Resources:

  • Alfie Kohn's website has many helpful resources, along with many articles about the importance of standards and how to apply them appropriately: https://www.alfiekohn.org/

  • National Educational Standards are different for each state. This website provides a link to each state's Common Core standards that are used to guide objectives in a traditional classroom: https://www.educationworld.com/standards/

Application:

Ethan's program is not a traditional classroom program, but an online test-prep program geared towards an SAT Test given in October. Instead of applying national or state standards as in a traditional classroom, our classes have a variety of different standards or objectives. These objectives are stated at the beginning of the class and are geared towards a particular skill that Ethan needs to improve. You can see the objectives in the "Plans" Tab on his spreadsheet. These help Ethan towards mastering all the needed content and skill areas of the SAT.
